Lee is back with some lesser known misfits, outright strangers - and, of course, a few well-known - selections from Cowboy Pasta scores that are not from Ennio Morricone. Lee also reads some comments from someone whose work has been featured on a past episode of BotT! There's probably too much talking on this one. Sorry about that.

Even if someone has never watched an Italian Western, there's at least a good chance they've heard the soundtrack or score from one. While Lee has featured some tracks from Italian Westerns before on the show, he's never done a dedicated look at the genre. This will be part one of three shows attempting to cover the scope of music that came from the Italian Westerns. Episode one is focused on selections that have vocalists on the tracks singing a song of some sort (note: the typical chorus of unintelligible chanting found on many Italian Western scores does not count in this case). As mentioned before, in some cases, you'll encounter a track that has been featured on a previous episode, but the majority of these shows will be featuring new material. Also, although he states on the episode that he was trying to keep this episode within the usual confines of an hour runtime, he quickly discovered the folly of that, as there is too much great music to play. Expect all of the episodes in this series to be as long as they have to be.

Blood on the Tracks Episode 33: Pandemic Playlist.
Monday Mar 30, 2020
Monday Mar 30, 2020
Lee is hunkered-down in his secret bunker this month (actually, it's every month), doing his best to avoid the Coronavirus. As serious as this situation is turning out to be, it doesn't mean we can't use it as inspiration for a playlist of film music, does it? Of course not! Wash your hands, cough into the crook of your arm, and eat up an hour of your social distancing with Lee.

Blood on the Tracks Episode 32: Lovecraft Adaptations.
Friday Feb 28, 2020
Friday Feb 28, 2020
Cinematic adaptations of H. P. Lovecraft's work have been pretty hit-or-miss over the years, but even a lot of bad adaptations have had some fine music attached to them. This month Lee digs through about 40 years of the notable examples. Get your ear buds in, your elder signs ready, and don't bloody well read from the Necronomicon, if you know what's good for you.

Blood on the Tracks Episode 31: Bastard Alien(s) Part 2.
Friday Jan 31, 2020
Friday Jan 31, 2020
Lee returns for a second look at music from films inspired by "Alien" and "Aliens". While there are a billion of these rip-off films, Lee quickly discovered when attempting to source the music, most of these films just don't have available soundtracks/scores, and even the ones that do usually only come from sources of dubious quality. That equals a bit less music than usual, and more talking from Lee. We know you're thrilled!

"Alien" (1979) and its sequel "Aliens" (1986) have influenced countless films in their wake. They both have possibly created, and definitely have made previously existing tropes popular, cementing them into pop culture to the extent that one can easily recognise an "'Alien' formula" in many different films, regardless of setting. In this episode Lee explores the soundtracks and scores of films that clearly display this formula. Considering the vast amount of films out there to choose from, there will at least be a part 2.

Blood on the Tracks Episode 29: Movies About Movies.
Wednesday Nov 27, 2019
Wednesday Nov 27, 2019
After a Halloween break Lee returns for more Blood on the Tracks. This month Lee looks at the soundtracks and scores from films that are about films, film making, or at least are in some way connected to this theme. He had a lot to sort through to make a playlist, so there probably will be a part 2 down the road at some point.

Part three of Lee's look into Canadian-made - or at least shot-in-Canada - horror is here. There's a lot more tracks and background info on the musicians and the films than in the previous two shows, and Lee has tried to better span the scope of Canadian horror, from the early days to more modern times, from low budget to much larger productions. Lee thinks this big list is pretty good, and he hopes you do too.

Blood on the Tracks Episode 26: Canadian Horror Part 2 - Rough and Rare.
Wednesday Jul 31, 2019
Wednesday Jul 31, 2019
Lee is back to dive into part two of this three-part dive into the music from Canadian-made horror. This time out there's a focus on the early and the obscure. A lot of time was spent trying to source the music (some sources sounds a bit crappy), so the background info is a bit lighter in this episode.
Playlist:

This month Lee is taking the first part of a multi-part dive into Canadian horror films. Of course, many horror (and other genre) films were made in Canada over the years in order to take advantage of the tax shelter incentives, so not everything on this episode can be considered entirely Canadian, but often Canadians filled most of the major creative roles in the films to be featured here and future installments, thus they get a pass.
But wait, there's more! This first part is going to focus on horror suites, so although you're getting fewer films and tracks featured here overall than you would in a regular BotT episode, you're still getting just as much music. Suites to the sweet!
Playlist:

Blood on the Tracks Episode 24: 1980s Punksploitation.
Tuesday May 28, 2019
Tuesday May 28, 2019
Punksploitation! Is it a thing? Lee says it is, because he'll be damned if he's going to manage to re-record a new show from scratch before the month is over. Lee spins some of his favourite cuts from film soundtracks that (mostly) in some way use punk rockers, punk music, or some sort of other punk aesthetic in the film.
